“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

Rebuilding Our Home. Continuing Our Mission.

Happy Summer 2020!

Hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

We here at the Children’s Fresh Air Home are thinking about and praying for all our supporters, and especially for the children we serve.

We are truly grateful for all of you!

At this time, we wanted to provide you with an update on what is happening with our construction efforts and with our summer If Just for a Day program.

After a delay of 2-3 months surrounding the current pandemic and state mandated stay at home orders, we are finally able to restart our Phase II of construction, which will complete our full exterior of the home. This phase is fully funded at this time and should be completed by the end of summer 2020. We then will move into our final Phase III interior reconstruction in the fall.  We are hopeful for a summer 2021 soft reopening of the home which will coincide with our 125th year of our mission.

As you know summer is our time to serve our kids. Our If Just for a Day program has been sidelined at least for the first half of summer due to COVID-19 concerns. This program brings our kids together for beach time and boardwalk amusement time, but as of right now, we have no rides and bringing groups of kids together from different households is a slow process to resume.  We hope to be able to provide some day trips in late summer and will continue to monitor this situation.

Our efforts to fundraise are ongoing! We still need donations to help finish Phase III, the interior of the home.  We are embarking on our final “Help Us Cut the Ribbon” Campaign fundraiser this summer. We’re calling on our friends, neighbors and local businesses to help make this decade-long dream a reality for the 20,000 children from the Philadelphia and New Jersey regions who have found a summer respite in CFAH for more than 120 years.

Please donate today!

We will continue to provide updates on our status as we move through 2020 and beyond.

Thank you again for all your support and understanding!

God Bless You!
