First,
financial contributions are always needed, both for yearly summer
expenses, and also for the necessary physical improvements to the property.
It costs approximately $50,000 to run the Home each summer. In addition,
the Century Campaign was started in 2003, with the goal of raising $4
million dollars in order to continue the tradition into the next century.
The Home, now 84 yrs. old, currently needs serious structural renovation.
Please contact Judy Hensel, our financial secretary, in order to make
a donation, or if you are interested in becoming involved with fundraising.
All gifts are, of course, tax deductible.
Secondly, without the efforts of volunteer workers, the Home could not
run. Responsible and loving high school and college students on staff
volunteer for two weeks or more; but there are also service opportunities
for all ages and for shorter times. After each group of children leaves,
work groups and individuals who come to assist the staff in bed making,
garden work and a thorough house-cleaning are much appreciated. There
are also often special projects to be done around the property particularly
before and after the Home’s eight-week season.
If you would like to organize a group to come, or simply to come yourself,
please contact the Home.
Finally, support us with your prayer and encouragement. The staff always welcomes
correspondence and care packages, and is aware of the prayers of the Church
on its behalf. If you would like to learn about our specific prayer needs,
don’t hesitate to call or write to the Home.
